Arise Sir Wiley ! Looking back at his decorated career, success is one byword that runs through the Godfather Of Grime’s CV … It’s now very clear that Wiley is well overdue a royal accolade.
The 38year old’s top 10 hits have included ‘Wearing My Rolex’ and his UK number 1 ‘Heatwave’, going back a decade ago in 2007 Wiley played a pivotal role in launching Chip and Ice Kid as he brought them out during his appearance on Westwood’s show !!
He has been a major factor at the early career stages of several UK stars such as Dizzee Rascal, Chip, Novelist, Ghetts, Tinchy Stryder and many more!
Fast forwarding to the present there is a clear respect and praise from fellow industry artists who look up to Wiley, that with a whole bag of accolades which include ‘Best Male’ at the MOBO Awards, ‘Outstanding Contribution To Music’ award by NME Magazine and to sum it up he was named ‘Greatest UK MC Of All Time’ by Noisy.
A knighthood would be a fitting nod for a year that will see Wiley headline the Godfather at O2 Academy Brixton in London on the 3rd November.
The star recently teased his 450,000 strong Twitter army telling them a trip to the USA might be on the cards as he tweeted “I gotta go American embassy next week wish me luck please.If I get the visa #Garn”
