Taylor Wimpey invites Southend residents to have their say on new development plans

29 Apr Taylor Wimpey invites Southend residents to have their say on new development plans

Taylor Wimpey is inviting residents of the Shoeburyness community in Southend-on-Sea to have their say on proposals for a new residential development that will regenerate industrial land.

The homebuilder is preparing a full planning application for 72 new homes on land off Campfield Road, with a mix of properties to suit a range of buyers. The site is currently in industrial use.

Of the new homes, 30% will be classed as affordable housing in line with local policy requirements, equating to 22 homes.

Taylor Wimpey will hold a public consultation to seek the views of local residents from 2nd to 16th May 2022. Details of the proposals will be available to view at www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/campfield-road, where a video presentation will also be uploaded.

People will also get the chance to speak to the project team in person during a public exhibition at St Peter’s Church in nearby Hinguar Street, which will run from 4pm until 7pm on Tuesday 10th May.

Sam Caslin, Planning Manager for Taylor Wimpey London, said: “Gathering the views of the local community is a vital stage in the development process and we are keen to hear what residents living near the site think of our current proposals.

“We understand that not everyone will be able to attend the public exhibition, so we will be uploading a video presentation from our project team to the consultation website for people to watch in their own time. We look forward to hearing people’s views.”

The public consultation on Taylor Wimpey’s proposals for Campfield Road will run from 2nd to 16th may 2022 at www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/campfield-road.
