19 Feb The Smart Essex Digital Summit to explore digital future
Leading technology partners are teaming up with Essex County Council to define how a digital strategy should be at the heart of a council to improve people’s lives, reshape public services and drive prosperity.
The Smart Essex Digital Summit will bring together senior leaders from visionary organisations including BT, Google, Dell, Eurovia, Huawei, Microsoft and Anglia Ruskin University as well as representatives from public sector organisations, at an exclusive event at the BT Tower on 27 February.
During the summit, different themes will be explored including how technology can impact on people’s lives and streamline public services. Companies at the forefront of digital transformation will also showcase some of the great work already under way in the UK and abroad where digital is changing lives, work and the environment around us.
The aim is to redefine how a digital strategy can support public services in today’s challenging financial times and drive economic growth to meet the needs and aspirations of a changing and growing population.
Commenting on the event, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Digital Innovation, IT and Customer Services, Councillor Stephen Canning said; “Digital technology is becoming a huge part of day to day life and it is crucial that council services can match this demand now and in the future. Our ambition is to develop a strategy that will improve the way we deliver public services to benefit the lives of residents in Essex.”
The Smart Essex Digital Summit is by invitation only, however those with an interest in digital issues in the public sector can register their interest by emailing [email protected].
