25 Feb Mini Swimming marks 10 years of inspiring a love of swimming
MINI SWIMMING, the leading swimming school in Essex, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month. Kelly Boyle-Ames launched Mini Swimming in 2012, after treasuring the special times she spent at swimming classes with her first child.
With limited availability of lessons that would fit around her work commitments, Kelly saw an opportunity to start a new business that made it easier for full-time working parents to find classes on rare days off and weekends.
Over the last 10 years, Mini Swimming has helped teach more than 15,000 babies and young children to learn to swim and enjoy spending time in the water.
Kelly and her team now provide Mini Swimming sessions at eight locations across Essex, Suffolk and into Greater London, including a purpose-built pool in Stanway that is used exclusively by Mini Swimming.
Kelly commented: “From the very beginning, I wanted Mini Swimming to feel very personal and welcoming, and over the years that sense of family has definitely grown. Mini Swimming is very much part of the local community. The Mini Swimming instructors all live in their communities and it’s important to me that people think that Mini Swimming is something brilliant.
“It is so rewarding to look back and see families still swimming with us that first started 10 years ago, right at the very beginning. In all we have helped more than 15,000 swimmers over the last 10 years.
“I’d love one of our swimmers to be an Olympic champion in the future, but what I really want each year is for hundreds of children to develop a life-long love of the water and look forward to each and every swimming lesson.
“Our babies starting this year will hopefully be our ten-year old swimmers when we celebrate 20 years, and to see that will be very exciting indeed.”
