06 Mar Haslers Foundation annual quiz raises thousands for local causes
Business leaders from across Essex and beyond have helped to raise £5,500 at The Haslers Foundation annual charity quiz.
12 teams took part in the event held at the Prince Regent Hotel in Manor Road, Chigwell on 28 February 2019, including teams from Edwards Duthie Solicitors, Utilize PLC, LE Law, Gisby Harrison Solicitors, Meaby & Co, Moon Beever, Wiseman Lee, Aquabridge Law, Woodford Green Athletics Club and Haslers. A special thank you also to the Dream Factory, Frank Charles Give a Gift Appeal, St Clare Hospice and Havens Hospice for joining the charity table.
Money raised on the night has been donated to The Haslers Foundation – the in-house charity of Loughton-based Haslers Chartered Accountants.
The night included a dinner and raffle, which featured gifts from a number of companies includingSparkling Stones Jewellery, The Florist Loughton, Edwards Duthie Solicitors, Sainsbury’s Loughton, Site Sales Property Group, The White Hart Inn, Grand Trunk Road South Woodford, Mangrove Global, The Champagne & Gift Company, Campioni Soccer Academy, Daren Burney and Karen Duke. Quiz rounds were sponsored by
Eddy Sharma of Hightower Wealth Management, Steve Martin of SRM Wealth Management, Utilize PLC, Patrick Dunne of West Essex Life and Aquabridge Law. Funds raised from the event will now be donated to organisations and causes in the region.
The winners at this year’s event were Woodford Green Athletics Club. Jon O’Shea, Chairman of Haslers Chartered Accountants, said: “Congratulations to Woodford Green Athletics Club and all the other teams that took part, we had a fantastic time testing our wits against one another, which ensured a healthy competition.
“Much thanks has to go those businesses who either donated gifts or sponsored this event, I know it is often said, but this event would not have been possible without them. A special thanks also to BEN’S MAGIC who entertained guests on the night.”
Previous years charity quizzes have led to donations to Streets2Homes, Frank Charles Give a Gift Appeal, ELHAP, Haven Hospices and the Dream Factory and have helped the Foundation raise more than £160,000 since it was founded nearly a decade ago.
“We hope that the money collected at this event will help a wide range of groups and individuals in the community,” added Jon.
