21 Sep Harlow fireworks night set to return
Harlow Council is preparing to hold its fireworks and bonfire night event in Harlow Town Park on Sunday 7 November 2021.
To kick off fireworks night, which will be free entry, the Harlow Playhouse stage will entertain crowds from 5.45pm. The lighting of the bonfire will take place at 6.45pm, followed by the fireworks display at 7pm.
Further information about the event will be released soon. The event was not held last year due to Covid-19 restrictions that meant large gatherings could not take place.
Councillor Joel Charles, Deputy Leader of the council, said: “As Covid restrictions around gatherings and outdoor events have been lifted, the council has decided to move forward with plans to hold fireworks night once again in the Town Park. Fireworks night is one of the town’s most popular community events – thousands of people head to the Town Park to see the display. I am delighted that preparations are underway for the event.
“Although the council is planning to hold the event in its usual size and format, preparations this year will be different and a more cautious approach will be taken than normal to safeguard public health as much as possible. Leading up to the night we will be watching both the local and national Covid situation closely because the council understands this can change quickly. The event will only go ahead if it is safe to do so and government guidance allows. Regular updates on the event will be issued by the council, including information on how people can keep themselves safe on the night.”
