Have you got an idea for your local community?

14 Nov Have you got an idea for your local community?

Have you got an idea for your local community? Then Chelmsford Library’s first Soup Session could be for you!
A unique form of fundraising popular in the States, the Soup Session gives residents the opportunity to pitch an idea for their community.
Members of the public coming along to the session are asked to make a donation, and enjoy a bowl of soup, whilst listening to the ideas.
They then have the opportunity to vote, with the winner taking all of the money made during the evening.
Cllr Anne Brown, Cabinet Member responsible for Libraries, said: “The idea of Soup is about bringing members of the community together in a fun way to chat, have a bite to eat and share ideas.
“The idea can be anything, as long as it supports your local community, so we would love to hear if you want to come along and find out more.”
Ideas at the first session are ‘The Gorkha Development Scheme’, ‘The Music Academy’, ‘Renew Counselling’ and ‘The Ideas Hub’.
The first Soup event takes place at 6.45pm on Wednesday 16th November at Chelmsford library.
