05 May Essex volunteers raise £3,672 for Bake For Heroes
Having raised £850,000 since the annual Help for Heroes (H4H) bake event launched in 2009 local volunteers once again added to this impressive total.
Sue Morgan, Essex County Coordinator from Colchester, is delighted that this year £3,672.04 has been raised. All money will go to H4H supporting wounded, injured and sick Personnel, Veterans and their loved ones.
Morgan, who has helped raise £60,000 over the last nine years with her bake sales, said about this year’s event: “It was a wonderful day. Colchester Piper Band were performing, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor were there in support, as well as MP Will Quince. Even the H4H bear popped along to talk to members of the public in the sunshine. It was a real family affair. The help has been brilliant and very much appreciated.”
