England Women’s U17 football captain Carlotte Wubben-Moy has said she is taking every opportunity to learn from the best as she aims to continue progressing through the ranks for club and country.
The 16-year-old student at Ingatestone’s Anglo European School made her debut for the Arsenal senior side last July and has scooped the FA WSL Development League and Cup double with the Gunners Ladies’ reserves side.
As if that wasn’t enough, Wubben-Moy also captained the England U17s side to the upcoming World Cup in Jordan, and the SSE Next Generation athlete believes the lessons learnt from her time in both squads will be a crucial part of her career going forward.
She said: “I’ve been part of the England set-up for three years now, so I feel like I’ve learnt a lot about the role, but I keep wanting to learn, keep improving, from the likes of Casey Stoney [at Arsenal], who I’ve been working with to try to progress as far as possible.
“Just being in the same dressing room as some of the Arsenal players is amazing. I was in there for the Continental Cup final in November, and that’s just a dream come true – you go in and learn so much, you’re like a sponge trying to soak it all in.
