02 Dec CCTV cameras to be installed at Basildon’s Northlands Park
Councillors have agreed to invest in CCTV cameras for Northlands Park, Basildon.
Last week’s meeting of the Neighbourhoods and Public Spaces Committee (Wednesday 27 November) councillors agreed to invest £36,504 into the new cameras which will be installed in December.
Vice Chairman of Basildon Council’s Neighbourhoods and Public Spaces Committee Councillor Andrew Ansell, said: “Since the introduction of our CCTV Policy we’ve been working closely with the police to identify sites where CCTV can be of benefit. This is good news for residents who use the park and will help to make them feel more safe.”
Leader of Basildon Council Councillor Gavin Callaghan added: “The addition of this CCTV will support the priorities of the Safer Basildon Partnership and help keep our residents safe and protect council property.”
