Can YOU find the clitoris? Sexperts challenge the public’s anatomy knowledge in a bid to highlight gender pleasure gap

24 Feb Can YOU find the clitoris? Sexperts challenge the public’s anatomy knowledge in a bid to highlight gender pleasure gap

Members of the public were given the ultimate anatomy challenge in central London yesterday, as two sex industry brands partnered up and posed the question – ‘Can you find the clitoris?’ in a bid to remove the stigma around female sexual pleasure and highlight the gender pleasure gap.

The two unapologetically pro-sex brands, hook-up app TapDat and sexual wellness brand Quanna joined forces to take to the streets of the capital yesterday Thursday 23rd February wearing sandwich boards featuring an image of a vulva to see if members of the public could locate the clitoris – the pleasure centre of the female vulva and a woman’s most sensitive erogenous zone.

The public were quizzed on the exact location of the clitoris, the only known human organ that has the singular purpose of providing pleasure. Of those who attempted the challenge, around 75% guessed correctly, with those unsure shying away from even attempting to try, emphasising the need for further education.

Some highlights included the team approaching police officers, doctors, construction workers, as well as father-and-son and mother-and-son pairings who used the exercise as a teaching moment, even Darth Vader had a go! All those who took part were treated to a free sample of Quanna’s CBD Oomf water-based lubricant and encouraged to download the TapDat app.

The ‘walking vulvas’ were spotted in Carnaby Street, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, Soho, and Leicester Square and caused quite the stir. Comments included “you’re doing God’s work”, “it took me years to find it” and with one man even joking, “I said at work the other day that I wanted to be a clitoris so that nobody could find me.”

Alice Leach TapDat Co-Founder educates member of the public on the vulva and clitoris

Alice Leach, TapDat’s Creative Director and Co-Founder, says: “Sexual pleasure for women has long been overlooked, ignored, even demonised. Pleasure is a gift, a universal joy, and something we should all be well-versed in giving and receiving.

“Female pleasure is often routed in both correct stimulation of the clitoris as well as self-confidence. We work hard to increase knowledge around how to give and receive pleasure and boost your sexual self-esteem.
