27 Apr Mid and North East Essex Mind offers Free Mental Health Training Sessions in Braintree

Mid and North East Essex Mind is hosting free mental health training sessions to help people learn how to look after their mental wellbeing. The ‘Mental Health Toolkit’ sessions will take place on 22 May and 11 June at the Plaza in Braintree and online on the 26 June aim to teach people how to manage their own mental health and support others around them.

The Mental Health Toolkit was developed by Suffolk Mind to help people manage their own mental wellbeing. The training programme has recently been launched in Essex and has already seen some fantastic results. 98% of attendees thought the course was a worthwhile investment of time, while 97% of attendees made plans to use the tools to support themselves. After the training session, 92% of attendees made plans to support colleagues at work.

The series of half-day training courses in Braintree will be free of charge, thanks to support of Braintree District Council as part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Ginny Idehen, CEO, Mid and North East Essex Mind, is delighted to bring these training sessions to Braintree. She said: “Suffolk Mind has successfully developed the Mental Health Toolkit. We’re delighted to be working closely with them to offer The Mental Health Toolkit in our local area, to support everyone with their mental wellbeing.”

She continued: “The Mental Health Toolkit is designed to help people manage their emotions and become more aware of how we can manage and maintain good mental health. We’re grateful that we’re able to bring the toolkit to Braintree, with the support of Braintree District Council as part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. One of the most important things we can do is look after our own mental health and wellbeing, and the grant helps us to support people to do this.”

The Mental Health Toolkit: The Essentials is a foundation course that teaches individuals and teams the tools and techniques to look after their own mental health and those around them. The half-day workshop will provide a taste of the approach, to give attendees the chance to look at their mental health differently and see if the course is right for them.

Mid and North East Essex Mind’s Mental Health Toolkit sessions will take place in person on Wednesday 22 May and Tuesday 11 June from 9.30am to 1pm, at The Plaza, Enterprise & Innovation Centre, Horizon 120, Great Notley, Braintree, CM77 7AU. Online on Wednesday 26 June from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
