PLACES LEISURE ARE GIVING BACK TO COMMUNITIES THIS AUGUST

17 Aug PLACES LEISURE ARE GIVING BACK TO COMMUNITIES THIS AUGUST

Places Leisure are making an impact across the UK by investing in the communities to which they serve, creating active places that empower people to be the healthiest version of themselves.

Places Leisure are offering initiatives throughout their centres to ensure health and wellbeing is accessible to all, including a variety of free memberships. They’re offering free swimming for all children on the free school meals initiative, allowing children to gain confidence in the water at their chosen centre. By investing in the children within their communities and encouraging them to learn a fundamental life-skill, Places Leisure can support behavioural changes which improve the physical and mental wellbeing of the community. Partnering with Zoggs, Places Leisure will also be offering free goggles to all those participating in this initiative whilst stock lasts.

Darren Lovelock, UK Leisure Sales Manager from Zoggs added “Zoggs champion the joy of swimming. Joining forces with our long-standing partner Places Leisure allows us to extend this joy to thousands of children across the country. Where Places Leisure provides the venue, we can provide the essential equipment that allows children to experience the freedom, fun and exhilaration of the water. We can’t wait to see how many children we can get swimming this summer!”

Additionally, Places Leisure are offering free NPLQ and SEQ courses at a selection of centres across the country, allowing people to learn valuable, life-saving skills to become qualified lifeguards and swim instructors.

Places Leisure’s venture to make fitness more accessible does not end there, selected centres are offering juniors attending their courses a free one-month Junior membership.

Whether they’re participants in trampolining, swimming, gymnastics, or any other courses on offer, they’ll be able to redeem their free membership. Parents and guardians of the juniors will also be offered a one-month free Premium membership.

Breaking down the fitness barriers faced by our communities is a top priority for Places Leisure, alongside all these amazing initiatives selected centres are allowing their members to bring a friend to the gym for free every Friday. Aligning with their new strategy, to create active places and healthy people for communities to thrive, Places Leisure has one common purpose; to deliver valuable and essential initiatives to the communities it serves. To further understand the needs of the community, they will be opening their doors to members of the public for a variety of Open Days. Showcasing their facilities and allowing the community to gain an insight into the centre.
