First Shared Ownership homes available at Enfield Electric Quarter in Enfield

01 Feb First Shared Ownership homes available at Enfield Electric Quarter in Enfield

The first 28 Shared Ownership homes at the new Electric Quarter development in Ponders End, EN3 4SA, are now available, offering an exciting opportunity for first-time buyers to get onto the housing ladder in this popular North London neighbourhood.

The contemporary one- and two-bedroom properties are being marketed by first-time buyer agent Red Loft, on behalf of Enfield Council. The homes form part of the second phase of the development, completed in December 2021. Electric Quarter will ultimately deliver a major mixed tenure regeneration scheme providing 167 much needed homes as well as brand-new commercial and retail spaces, a nursery and public library.

Initially, the new apartments will be launched to people who currently live and/or work locally. With deposits starting from £4,313,* the new homes provide an affordable route onto the property ladder in Enfield – an area recently tipped as one of the top 10 capital neighbourhoods for house price growth in 2021.

Wendy Hegarty, Partner at Red Loft, comments: “We are thrilled to be selling the new Shared Ownership homes at Electric Quarter, which forms part of the wider projects that are transforming Ponders End High Street and welcoming new residents to this rapidly growing area. We expect to see high levels of interest from young professionals seeking well-connected, modern apartments. This new launch of properties at Electric Quarter is really just the start – the team at Red Loft are looking forward to continuing our partnership with Enfield Council to deliver many more new homes to the local market in the next couple of years.”

Enfield Council Leader Cllr Nesil Caliskan said: “We are committed to providing as many affordable homes in the borough as possible. Electric Quarter is a fantastic development that will give residents the opportunity to take their first step towards home ownership. Our bold house building programme is on track to deliver thousands of new, quality homes in well connected, thriving neighbourhoods for people on a range of incomes.”

Paying homage to the area’s industrial heritage, Electric Quarter’s smart red brick exterior provides a glimpse of the high standard of homes inside. All apartments at Electric Quarter feature open plan living spaces and sleek, contemporary kitchens fitted with integrated appliances included as standard. The high-spec finish continues in bathrooms and en-suites, which include Cubica Blanco wall tiles, modern white sanitary ware, and heated towel rails. Outside, residents can enjoy the mature landscaping and pretty tree-lined avenues throughout the development which create a village-like atmosphere amidst the urban environment.

Homes at Electric Quarter benefit from being located close to a wealth of varied amenities. For sporting enthusiasts, the London 2012 Olympic legacy lives on with a range of gyms, swimming pools and football pitches, plus nearby Lee Valley Leisure Centre. Meanwhile, Enfield has five town centres with vibrant high streets and amenities for people living, working or visiting the borough. For those seeking a buzzing social scene, Enfield’s wide array of traditional London pubs and fashionable bars offers an ever-growing number of nightspots to discover.

Ideally positioned for commuters, Ponders End Station is just a ten-minute walk away from Electric Quarter, offering direct rail connections into London Liverpool Street in less than 25 minutes. Alternatively, frequent bus routes connect Enfield easily to the rest of London whilst cycle paths offer a chance to explore local waterways. When travelling further afield, the A10 provides handy connections to the North Circular and M25, with London City Airport also within easy reach.
