A family-orientated Great Great Grandad from Clacton-on-Sea has won £1,000,000 on The National Lottery after matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in the Lotto draw on Saturday 24 May.
The win for the lucky octogenarian, who plays regularly using family birthday numbers and whose first purchase after his win was a family meal out to celebrate, means the world to him. “It is just fantastic, I am over the moon and so excited. I never thought
it would happen to me and it means we can now move nearer to my daughter, which is wonderful.” he said.
The lucky numbers from the Lotto draw on 24 May were 9, 12, 13, 26, 38 and 40, and the Bonus Ball was 4, and the Clacton man was not alone in becoming a Lotto millionaire that night as he was one of an incredible four players who scooped the same £1,000,000
prize in the draw.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, congratulated the mystery winner, saying, “What incredible news for this lucky Great Great Grandad from Clacton. Family obviously means the world to him and it’s so lovely to
see that this win will help him bring his family closer together, especially with a move closer to his daughter now possible. He was in the pub when he checked his winning ticket – we hope he raised a celebratory glass there and then. Huge congratulations!
