@GibberdGallery2 collection makes way for new exhibition

13 Jun @GibberdGallery2 collection makes way for new exhibition

Work is taking place at the Gibberd Gallery as a new exhibition temporarily takes over from June until September.

“Caught in the Act” will feature the works of Essex-born and internationally renowned artist Peter Randall-Page and it will be the first time his work has been put on display in the east of England. The exhibition will feature carvings, bronzes, works on paper and maquettes (small preliminary models or sketches), and is a celebration of the artist, his working methods and the ideas that inspire him.

To make way for this exhibition, the majority of the gallery’s permanent collection is being put into temporary storage. However, if you still wish to see a particular favourite piece from the permanent collection, you can contact the gallery and they will bring it out of storage for viewing.

A stone carving, ‘Warp and Woof’, has already been placed in The Water Gardens, creating a unique marker and starting point for visitors to this ground-breaking show. The exhibition will also include a free family workshop on Saturday 18 June 2016 from 11am-2pm; come along and sculpt your own miniature clay boulder.

“Caught in the Act” opens on Friday 17June 2016 and runs until 2 September 2016. For more information, please visit the Gibberd Gallery website:www.gibberdgallery.co.uk
