Fatto a Mano is joining forces with David Shrigley and its long-standing community partner, Brighton Table Tennis Club to launch a new pizza special, The Champion, which will be available from 19th October at all Fatto a Mano restaurants in London and Brighton for five weeks for dine-in and takeaway.

The collaboration brings together three names with a shared connection to Brighton. Fatto a Mano first began in the city and has a long-standing relationship with Brighton Table Tennis Club (BTTC), a charity and community club that uses sport to bring people together and create opportunities across the community. Brighton resident and artist David Shrigley is also a long-time supporter of the club.
Brighton Table Tennis Club is a sports club like no other. It welcomes everyone, particularly people who might otherwise face barriers to taking part, including refugees, young people in care and people with learning disabilities. The club was the UK’s first Sports Club of Sanctuary, has been named Pride of Sport Club of the Year, and is home to the first person with Down’s syndrome to qualify as a coach in any sport.
Rather than Fatto a Mano deciding on the pizza, BTTC members were handed creative control, with a suggestion box at the club inviting them to submit ideas for their dream pizza. Fatto a Mano developed a selection from those ideas before members and Shrigley joined the team for a tasting session to choose the final creation, together creating The Champion.
Made with Fatto a Mano’s signature Neapolitan style dough, proved for at least 24 hours, The Champion combines stracciatella, figs, wild rocket pesto, mozzarella and aged balsamic red onions. Calabrian ’nduja can be added for extra heat.
Shrigley has created a bespoke pizza box for The Champion, bringing his instantly recognisable deadpan humour to the humble takeaway box.
Alongside the boxes, a strictly limited run of David Shrigley x Fatto a Mano x BTTC merch (£15 Tote bags, £25 T-shirts) will also be available, with 100% of profits going to BTTC. These will be available from all Fatto a Mano pizzerias and via the Fatto a Mano website.
On launch day, 19th October, the pizza will be available from all pizzerias for £10, with 100% of the money taken from those pizzas donated to BTTC. For the rest of the five-week run, £1 from every The Champion sold will go to the club, alongside 100% of profits from merchandise sales.
The funds will support BTTC’s ongoing community work, helping bring people together through sport and create opportunities across the community to those who might need support the most.
Further community events and activations will take place during the five-week run, with details to be announced.
