This May half term, Blenheim Palace has lots of exciting activities to offer families looking to make the most of their day out.
Throughout May half term, little ones can let their imaginations run wild within Adventure Play, the biggest family-themed attraction in the Palace’s history. The outdoor play area, located within the Walled Garden, features a series of immersive interconnecting zones with secret chambers, clamber nets, tunnels, slides, rope bridges, and giant carrots! Little explorers can cross bridges over the winding river, hop over stepping stones, and dodge the water jets – perfect fun for a warm day.
Within Adventure Play, children can follow the Pip and Posy Rainbow Treasure Hunt, inspired by an episode from Pip and Posy Magic Light Pictures’ hugely popular pre-school series, which airs on Sky Kids and Channel 5’s Milkshake! On 30th and 31st May, Pip and Posy costumed characters will be making appearances throughout the day to meet their fans.
Families can hop aboard Winston, the adorable mini train, for their trip to the Walled Garden and on arrival can race against time to see if they can conquer the mighty Marlborough Maze in just 10 minutes, before tucking into delicious pizza at the Walled Garden Pizzeria.
Food enthusiasts can also look forward to the Blenheim Palace Food Festival from 23rd-25th May, featuring a fantastic line-up of celebrity chefs and experts, and amazing food and drink from gourmet delights to vibrant street food. With such a range of delicious delights, there’s bound to be something for everyone’s taste buds.
Visit the Palace to step back in time to the Blueprints of Power exhibition (open until 31st May) and discover more about the dazzling world of Sir John Vanbrugh, an architect, playwright and larger-than-life character whose ambition shaped an era. The limited time exhibition brings Sir John Vanbrugh’s story to life through immersive visual moments that carry history lovers from his mischievous beginnings in the theatre to the high‑stakes tension of his partnership with Sarah Churchill, the formidable first Duchess of Marlborough.
Access to the Palace and Food Festival are included with a valid Pass or Park & Gardens Day Ticket. A Palace and Play Pass grants access to both Blenheim Palace and Adventure Play for a full year as well as many events including the Food Festival and Flower Show, and costs £165 for a family of four, £51 per adult and £41 per child.
