For the third time, FARM Rio is participating in the “Brazil: Creating Fashion for Tomorrow” initiative. This year, it presents the exhibition “(re)weaving Amazonia” in recognition of COP30, which will be hosted in the Amazonian city of Belém. The exhibition explores the intersections of creativity, nature and regeneration.
Unlike previous editions aligned with the local Fashion Week, the flagship event is to take place during London Climate Action Week and will be held at Coal Drops Yard. It will be hosted by LCAW’s King’s Cross Hub in partnership with the Embassy of Brazil in London, Arapyaú Institute and The Nature Conservancy.
In line with this edition’s curatorial approach—highlighting the creative work of professionals from Brazil, including the Amazon region, including Indigenous peoples, diasporic communities, and designers—FARM Rio presents a one-of-a-kind maxi dress co-created with long-time collaborators, the Yawanawa women.
The unique design features a crochet pattern that evokes the skin of a snake, an animal with deep symbolic meaning for the Yawanawa culture. The print also reinterprets rauti, their traditional beadwork jewelry style representing beauty and protection.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 25–29 June at 79 – 81 Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross, London, N1C 4DQ, from 11am to 6 pm daily.
