Bellway is offering autumn incentives of up to £35,000 to help people in Essex to make their move to a new home. And there are more savings to follow, with energy bills typically 21 per cent lower for people who live in new properties.
Research by HBF highlights the environmental and energy efficiency savings achieved in new homes. Carbon emissions are typically 33 per cent lower than in older homes, while upgrading a second-hand property to modern standards can cost £70,000.
Bellway is offering a range of incentives to help people to secure their own new energy-efficient home this autumn, with savings of up to £35,000 available on selected plots. This can be used towards a deposit, to reduce mortgage payments, or to pay for upgrades such as flooring and appliances.

Simon Smith said his family’s monthly winter bills have reduced from around £600 to £200 since they moved into their three-bedroom Bellway property.
The home is equipped with a range of low-carbon technologies, including an air source heat pump, solar panels and underfloor heating, to minimise emissions. The family moved from a three-bedroom ex-council house.
Simon said: “At the height of the winter months at the old house, which had a gas boiler, we were paying about £150 a week, so that’s more than £600 a month for our energy bills.
“In our first winter in the new house, when it was coldest I was only paying about £50 a week for the energy bills, which included running a hot tub in the garden too.
“We want to do our bit to help save the planet and by buying a Future Home like this we are doing that and we are slashing our bills at the same time. It’s a win-win situation.”
