01 Jul Your Stratford Summer takes over IQL Stratford with a jam-packed series of free outdoor screenings, sport and live music
The very latest blockbuster movies and the best of the summer’s sporting events are all set to be screened outdoors and completely free of charge at IQL Stratford this summer, accompanied by a soundtrack of live music and interactive dance classes.
A packed programme of free events and activities for all ages has been put together for Your Stratford Summer, which is the latest in a series of cultural events organised by International Quarter London, the neighbourhood destination and innovation district located next to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Your Stratford Summer will take over The Spark and Endeavour Square for several weeks. The programme includes:
Outdoor screenings of cult classics such as Notting Hill, Bridesmaids, Bridget Jones’s Diary and Mamma Mia with the Thursday Night Film Club.
Weekend Morning and Matinee Movies for younger audiences including Encanto, Shrek, Paddington and Cars.
The best of the summer’s live sporting events such as the 150th Open at St Andrews, Tour de France, Wimbledon, and Commonwealth Games, in addition to throwbacks to great sporting highlights from the London 2012 Olympic Games, in honour of its 10-year anniversary this summer.
Put on your dancing shoes and take part in some interactive dance classes. Jump, live and lindy hop with Swing Patrol on the 23rd July and salsa with Havana Londres on the 27th August.
There will also be live music every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday brought to you by a variety of acts from Busk in London, the world’s largest street performance programme.
On this 10-year anniversary of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, what better place to head for to host your summer plans than IQL Stratford? Featuring the recently opened Haugen with its lively alpine-inspired restaurant, bar and rooftop, and a variety of other exciting bars, restaurants and cafes, it’s the perfect place for get togethers with family and friends over the summer months, accompanied by your favourite films and a laid-back soundtrack.
