18 Jan Work gets underway at Harlow Science Park site
Since work began there in October 2018, construction of the first buildings at the 27-acre site is now well under way; once complete the park will comprise 25 buildings housing businesses in the high-tech, life science, information and communication technology and advanced engineering industries.
This first phase of construction focusses on the creation of the Anglia Ruskin Business Innovation Centre and an office complex known as Nexus, which will be owned and run by Harlow Council.
The Council will be using Nexus to help businesses in the technology sector to grow.
In addition to the businesses that will make their home at the Science Park, there will also be other facilities including cafés, restaurants, a gym and a hotel, that can be used by people living in the area, as well as by those working there.
The site will create around 2,500 jobs for Harlow.
The first phase of construction is expected to be completed in August 2019.
