With Quitter’s Day Looming, Snap Fitness Launches a New Initiative to Help People Stay on Track in 2026

It’s one thing to get started but it’s another to keep going and stay motivated. As January motivation starts to fade, ‘Quitter’s Day’ (10th January) is looming and as many as 50% of people abandon their New Year’s fitness goals within the first few weeks of January, predominantly because they feel unsure, unsupported and overwhelmed by the gym.
To help combat that early drop-off, Snap Fitness has launched a new member-focused initiative designed to help people push past Quitter’s Day and build habits that last.

Snap Start is a small-group training experience created to help members feel confident and at home in the gym from day one. Rather than the traditional one-on-one gym induction, Snap Start helps members make connections, get hands on and try group exercise in small training groups of up to eight people.

The initiative combines instructor-led cardio, strength, and functional training with hands-on guidance to help members learn how to use equipment safely and effectively, reduce gym anxiety, and build momentum through shared experience and support with others.
Sessions focus on building confidence, developing practical fitness skills, and forming connections with trainers and fellow members, key factors shown to improve motivation and long-term consistency. Designed as an accessible alternative to traditional one-to-one onboarding, Snap Start is ideal for anyone looking for extra structure, reassurance, and encouragement as they begin or reset their fitness journey.

Speaking about the new initiative, Andy Carr, Head of Fitness for Snap Fitness UK said, “More often than not, people don’t give up on fitness because they lose interest, they give up because they lack support and direction.”

“This initiative is about changing that narrative by making sure no one feels like they’re doing it alone.”

To extend that support beyond the gym floor, the initiative is also backed by the Snap App, giving members the tools they need to stay consistent between sessions. Through the app, members can track workouts, access on-demand training and guidance, set goals and stay connected to their club, providing structure, accountability and encouragement even on days they are not training in person.

Snap Start reinforces Snap Fitness’s commitment to helping every member feel confident, supported and capable, long after the initial New Year’s resolution buzz wears off.
For anyone ready to make 2026 the year fitness finally sticks, Snap Fitness is making it easier than ever to keep going.
