05 Oct Will you attend the funeral of a Southend veteran with no family?
On Wednesday 10 October, Army-veteran Chris Bundy will be laid to rest with no family present. SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is calling on the local community to turn out to make his final goodbye a respectful tribute to his service to the country.
Joining the Royal Anglian regiment of the Army when he was just 16, Chris served in Cyprus, Malta and Aden.
Chris died at the age of 71. He had loved to play bowls and represented Essex and England in the sport. He had two children, who are both in Australia and unable to attend.
For anyone in the local community wishing to show their thanks for a veteran who served his country, the funeral will be held at Southend Crematorium at 09:40 on Wednesday 10 October.
