Slim Chickens, the fast-growing US-born chicken brand known for its fresh, cooked to order tenders, wings and house made sauces, is set to open a brand new restaurant at Lakeside Shopping Centre in early December. The new restaurant will open on Level 1, alongside Wingstop and will create 50 new jobs.
The Lakeside Shopping Centre restaurant will be the 9th Slim Chickens site operated by JRK Restaurants, joining existing Essex locations in Basildon, Chelmsford and Colchester, and further strengthening the brand’s presence across the region.
General Manager Jitenda Thakur will lead the team, bringing Slim Chickens’ signature Southern hospitality and “better chicken” ethos to Lakeside. The restaurant will offer dine in, takeaway and delivery, serving a full menu of freshly prepared chicken, hand breaded tenders, crispy wings, Texas Toast, signature sides and its famous range of house made dipping sauces.
Guests and shoppers can also download the Slim Chickens app to unlock free food, exclusive offers and rewards from their very first visit. It will also be offering students 20% off their bill Sunday-Thursdays.
Founded in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Slim Chickens has grown rapidly across the UK thanks to its commitment to quality, speed and Southern style comfort food. Every tender is marinated in buttermilk, hand breaded and cooked fresh to order, ensuring the brand’s hallmark texture and flavour in every bite.
Jitenda Thakur, General Manager of Slim Chickens Lakeside, said:
“We’re thrilled to be opening our 9th Slim Chickens site at Lakeside and investing in the local area with a new restaurant as well as creating more jobs for local people. Lakeside is one of the UK’s leading retail and leisure destinations and we can’t wait for visitors to experience our fresh, cooked‑to‑order chicken, signature sauces and warm Southern hospitality.”
The new Slim Chickens Poole restaurant will open early December and is situated on Level 1, Lakeside Shopping Centre, West Thurrock Way, Grays, RM20 2ZP.
