Volunteers plant new trees in two areas of Harlow

04 Dec Volunteers plant new trees in two areas of Harlow

Harlow Council staff and volunteers recently planted 87 trees in 7 days as another two tree planting schemes were completed in the town.

New trees have been planted along Abercrombie Way and as part of a new Community Orchard on the former Goldings playing field. A Community Orchard is a collection of fruit trees shared by communities in publicly accessible areas.

The volunteers helping to plant the trees were made up of Greenteam volunteers, Glaxo Smith Kline employees and a volunteer group from Hertfordshire called the Wednesday volunteers. All volunteers were supported by council staff.

The council would like to thank the volunteers and staff for their hard work helping to complete these two schemes which will make a huge difference to the environment in Harlow.
