19 Nov Visa invites independent businesses of Essex to recreate festive ad for the chance to win prime time advertising slot
Visa’s Christmas campaign is supporting the UK’s independent retailers for a second year. In a rallying cry to UK shoppers, the campaign is encouraging people to switch their focus from what they are buying to where they are buying, urging shoppers to show their local high streets some love this Christmas and beyond.
Building on the success of last year’s creative, which saw businesses in Loughton High Road in the Epping Forest District organically create their own festive copycat advert, this year the campaign features a nationwide competition.
Independent retailers up and down the country are invited to join the campaign by recreating the Christmas advert and showing why Where You Shop Matters to their own high streets. The copycat adverts will be independently judged with the overall winning advert airing in a prime-time television advertising slot in the run-up to Christmas for millions to see. By giving a high street a national advertising slot, Visa wants to inspire people up and down the country to visit their own high streets and shop locally this Christmas and beyond.
Jeni Mundy, Managing Director, UK & Ireland, Visa commented: “We’re thrilled to put the spotlight on independent businesses through our Christmas campaign. We want to ensure independent businesses are recognised and visited by their local communities, so we are rallying Essex’s shoppers to show their local high street some love this Christmas and beyond.”
“High streets and independent retailers are at the heart of communities across the UK and we’re delighted to be able to give them the recognition they deserve through our Christmas campaign.
