08 Sep University of Essex ranked among the world’s most international universities
The University of Essex’s place in the top 2% of universities in the world was reinforced by the release of the QS World University Rankings today. The rankings confirm that Essex is one of the most international universities in the world.
Essex is ranked 330th overall according to the independently scrutinised and IREG approved QS analysis, and 257th for the number of citations per faculty, a measure of the global reach of our research.
The thirteenth edition of the QS World Rankings ranked Essex 25th for the most international student community and 60th for the most international academic community. Essex ranks 5th among UK universities for its international academic community. QS ranks more than 900 of the world’s leading higher education institutions using six performance indicators.
The updated world rankings follow QS releasing its international rankings by subject in March. Essex is in the top 30 universities in the world for Sociology and Politics.
Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Aletta Norval said: “These rankings confirm that Essex is home to one of the most international university communities in the world. Our rankings for Sociology and Politics are in the world top 30 and our research has global reach. We are committed to delivering a research-led education which supports our staff and students to focus on real-world challenges.”
