07 Mar TV contributor Paul Thomas Bell weights in on Tyson Fury return
It has truly been an incredible few hours since the heavyweight King Tyson Fury announced his planned return to the ring this May, and although no opponent or further details have been released. TV/Radio contributor Paul Thomas Bell gave us his lowdown on the whole situation.
Paul told us “There’s never been any doubting Fury’s talent, he’s proved that time and time again. The problem with Fury has always been his attitude, even after all this time it’s hard to know if he actually wants to be a boxer.”
The past two years have been controversial for Fury, with a rescheduled match with Klitschko postponed due to an ankle injury, before it came out that the heavyweight boxer was suffering with depression.
Further adding to his woes Fury admitted to taking cocaine after becoming depressed following his win over Klitschko in 2015.
Paul continues to tell us “Is he just announcing a comeback because the Haye/Bellew fight made him realise he misses the limelight? Possibly, it just seems like he reached the top then lost the motivation to carry on. That being said the talent is undoubtedly there for a successful return.”
Merely days ago Fury tweeted his support for Tony Bellew ahead of his bout with David Haye saying:
“Good luck tonight @TonyBellew put it on him, after 4 rounds he will be f.ck.d! He is a proper little diva😻 Do the bizo pal, xxxx #warbomber”
At present it has been a mixed reaction for the heavyweight King but once his opponent is announced this could see support surge!
