TILBURY REGENERATION PROJECT BOOSTED BY AMAZON TEAM

03 Jan TILBURY REGENERATION PROJECT BOOSTED BY AMAZON TEAM

A charity promoting regeneration in Tilbury has received a £1,500 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Tilbury.

The Tilbury Riverside Project was set up in 1992 with the aim of promoting economic, social and cultural regeneration in Tilbury and surrounding areas. The project is responsible for the Tilbury Christmas lights, has a programme facilitating guided walks and has previously worked with people from the community living with Alzheimer’s disease.

The donation from the Amazon team has been spent on new white lights for the trees and Christmas trees in the town.

Carlos Guijarro Benito, General Manager at Amazon in Tilbury, said:

“The Tilbury Riverside Project does important work in our community and the team at Amazon in Tilbury is pleased to support the charity with this donation.”

Annie O’Brien, from The Tilbury Riverside Project, added:

“We’re passionate about the regeneration of Tilbury and the surrounding area and it’s great to know that our work is being supported by Carlos and the team at Amazon. Thank you for this donation – it means a lot to us.”

The donation to The Tilbury Riverside Project was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than five million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
