Tilbury Bridge Walkway of Memories opens

30 Aug Tilbury Bridge Walkway of Memories opens

Tilbury Bridge Walkway of Memories is a site-specific art installation, comprised of images, documents, audio recordings and memorabilia on 432 panes of glass, adorning one of the bridges that passengers of the Empire Windrush first walked across as they entered Britain in 1948. The installation is a perfect place to visit over the Bank Holiday weekend 28- 30th August and throughout the year.

To enhance your visit, on arrival to the art and sound installation, scan the QR code situated on the poster at the entrance of the exhibition to download a copy of our Exhibition Guide to map your personal journey. You can also use a QR reader to scan the QR codes featured on selected windows to listen to extracts of the 25 audio stories from Windrush elders’ about their experience of coming to the UK.
