22 Nov Tickets available for London Southend Airport Mental Elf 2022 runway run
Tickets for London Southend Airport’s ‘Mental Elf’ fundraiser are available to purchase as the event returns for 2022.
Members of the community are invited to run, jog or walk the length of the runway in an effort to raise money for local mental health charity, South East and Central Essex Mind.
The festive runway run will take place on Saturday, December 3 and hopes to clock more than £5,000 from donations and sponsorship.
Esken, who own London Southend Airport, has committed to match up to £5,000.
John Upton, CEO London Southend Airport, said: “Mental Elf is a fantastic end to our fundraising year, and a great opportunity to develop our relationship with our charity partner SECE Mind, as well as the local community.
“Looking after your mental health is particularly important during the winter months, and we hope this fun event will go a long way towards raising awareness for SECE Mind’s free Somewhere to Turn initiative – their mental health support phoneline – as well as being a great day out for family and friends.”
Robyn Blackwood, Income Generation & Communications Manager for SECE Mind, said: “We’re excited to be returning to the runway for our annual Mental Elf fundraiser. As our charity partner, London Southend Airport has been really supportive in providing such a unique venue for our run and helping us raise funds for our vital local mental health services.
“We’re very grateful to the airport for their support and to everyone who has fundraised so far.”
Participants can expect a morning of Christmas cheer, music and mince pies – as well as an official Mental Elf 2022 medal and free hot drink voucher from Scott’s of Southend.
Robyn added: “We look forward to seeing all our Mental Elves on December 3!”
Early bird tickets are currently priced at £18 per adult, and children (under 16) are £14.
Event timings are subject to change and spaces are limited. Purchase your tickets on the SECE Mind website.
