25 Apr Thurrock MP welcomes £1m extr funding for Basildon Hospital
Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle Price has welcomed an extra £1m funding for Basildon Hospital.
The Government has awarded an extra £1m to Basildon Hospital to ease pressure on A&E next winter.
This additional money will be used by the hospital to ensure that it meets the standard of admitting and discharging 95% of patients within four hours. It will enable GPs to be co-located in A&E to make sure patients are treated in the most appropriate setting.
Jackie said, “We know that winter is a challenging time for Basildon Hospital. This additional £1m shows that this Government will ensure that money will be made available to give patients in Thurrock the treatment they need.”
