19 Mar Three Pitsea charities to share £3500 donation
The Pitsea Town Centre Working Group have agreed to donate a total of £3550 to support three charities in the town.
An equal donation of £1183 will be given to the Craig Tyler Trust, the Trussell Foodbank (Northlands) and Changing Pathways (Felmores).
The Pitsea Town Centre Working Group were allocated £6000 from the Neighbourhoods and Public Spaces Committee back in March 2020, to support localised projects in the town. The working group agreed at a meeting on 22 February 2021 to use its remaining allocation of £3550 to support the three charities.
The rest of the allocated funds had already been spent on repairing the Pembrooke House clock, planting flower beds in the town centre and Christmas solar lights.
Chairman of the Neighbourhoods and Public Spaces Committee, Councillor David Harrison, said: “These are three great charities that we recognise do such brilliant work to support residents of our borough in different ways.
“Through the pandemic there’s been an increased demand for their services too, so I’m sure these donations will be put to good use right away.
“All our local charities need support whether that’s through volunteers or with donations, and I encourage anyone get involved and support a local charity or good cause if you can.”
