What is good design and how does that translate into a bar space? Apply now to have your bar named the venue with the best design in the world.
A great bar experience is about far more than what is in the glass – hospitality, ambience and the design itself all have key roles to play.
It is with this in mind that The World’s 50 Best Bars launches the Bareksten Best Bar Design Award, which will look at the importance of the bar itself and how it feeds into to the overall bar experience for both guest and bartender.
The award will go further than an assessment of style and taste and take into account touchpoints of accessibility, sustainability and ergonomics for people on both sides of the bar.
How does a bar apply to be considered for the award?
The award is based on a 100% free application process. Entrants will have to provide key details and documentation of the design that will be collected and anonymised prior to the judging rounds, carried out by a panel of six hospitality design experts.
What are the criteria?
The judges will assess each entry based on six criteria:
Innovation
Aesthetics
Accessibility
Ergonomics
Ecological compatibility
Emotional quotient
