30 Oct The Woman Science Photographer of the Year open for submissions
In celebration of women’s contributions to research and innovation, the RPS Women in Photography group announces its first Woman Science Photographer of the Year competition. Commonly gendered subjects of art and science meet in photography, with technology providing the backbone, science helping us understand and creativity feeding the imagination.
Submissions of a maximum two images per photographer are invited from 1 November to 15 December. Entry is free and open to all female and female-identifying photographers, regardless of age, experience or background.
The winning photographer will be announced at a ceremony at the RPS in Bristol on 11 February 2023. The day was declared International Day of Women and Girls in Science by the UN General Assembly to inspire progress toward gender equality in science and technology.
Shortlisted images for Over 18 and Under 18 categories will be exhibited on a rolling feed on a big screen at the RPS until the end of March.
