The View show support for breaking local artists on UK Tour

11 Oct The View show support for breaking local artists on UK Tour

After landing their highest chart position in 14 years when their current album ‘Exorcism of Youth’ debuted at #6, The View are now set to introduce a wave of emerging artists as they embark upon a headline tour next month. They have teamed up with rock ‘n’ roll club night, festival curators, independent record label and all-round new music champions This Feeling to give a total of 21 different artists their moment in the spotlight as support at each show in England and Wales.

The chosen artists cover the rock ‘n’ roll spectrum, ranging from Scotland’s exuberant next generation indie rock stars Shambolics (appearing in Manchester and London) to the indie-soul elegance of Ruby J (winner of a competition to perform at This Feeling’s inaugural By The Sea Festival, now opening in Keele) and the dark-hued alt-rock of Rosa Caelum (on the bill in Birmingham), a band who have released just two songs to date.

Other highlights include a freshly reinvigorated take on epic, cinematic-scaled indie-rock from ROLLA (Manchester), a rush of high energy indie-pop from The Lilacs (Keele and Newcastle) and classic songwriting with a Wolf Alice-ish edge from Lissy Taylor (Liverpool).

This Feeling founder Mikey Jonns commented, “As a young band the opportunity to play big venues with a big band is a dream, so huge love and respect The View boys for making that dream come true for loads of brilliant acts we’re working with – it’s gonna be a blinding night of music from start to finish!”

The View’s Kyle Falconer, “It’s great that we’re at a stage where we’ve got the opportunity to help young local talent. I look forward to sharing a stage with them.”

The support for The View’s Scottish dates was already previously announced: a reunion with the Shambolics (Kyle Falconer also features on their upcoming single ‘Attention’) in Edinburgh and Kilmarnock, and the soaring anthemic flair of DAYTIME TV in Aberdeen and Dundee. Singer-songwriter Ben Walker will open all five shows in Scotland.

The View’s upcoming list of shows and accompanying support band is listed below. Limited tickets remain available HERE for all shows except for the first night in Dundee, which quickly sold-out.
