The UK holiday hotspots that celebrities adore

07 Jun The UK holiday hotspots that celebrities adore

In recent times, staycations have become a popular holiday option for many UK residents. From some of Essex’s top reality stars to a selection of UK-based pop singers, they too are discovering the benefits of holidaying in good old Blighty. Given the sheer amount of stunningly beautiful options, it’s not much of a surprise either.

Many people get inspiration for their next holiday from where the celebrities are going, too. Ultimately, if a celebrity is heading somewhere, then it must have its merits given their typically high standards. Also, although holiday shows on television showcase a particular foreign setting or Egyptian-themed games provide an authentic dive into Egypt, it can be hard to know for sure just how much of a viable option it is for you until you’re there in the flesh. Thankfully, if some of the celebrities we know and love are able to sample a specific location for themselves before we potentially go there, too, then it’s a safer bet. Holidays aren’t cheap, after all.

So, with some instantly recognisable faces discovering the delights of a staycation in the UK, let’s take a look at some superb domestic locations for you to consider ahead of your next holiday away.

North Wales

With the likes of Wayne Rooney, Andrew Lincoln, Kate Garraway, and Ant and Dec spotted there in recent years, North Wales is an excellent option for UK holidaymakers. From camping venues to luxury cottages, there are plenty of accommodation options in the area. Additionally, there is plenty to see and do, too. Popular options in North Wales include surfing, kayaking, hiking, swimming, and a whole lot more. There are some gorgeous pubs and restaurants to try also.

The Cotswolds

Thanks to its postcard-perfect villages and towns, alongside its stunningly beautiful scenery and rich history, the Cotswolds is a holiday destination that is always in high demand. With some amazing homes there and an all-round high-end feel to it, the area understandably appeals to some of the country’s most rich and famous personalities. For example, stars like David and Victoria Beckham and TV presenter Amanda Holden own holiday retreats in the area. Also, numerous soap stars and a selection of talented current pop stars have been seen there in the past, too.

Cornwall

A glorious location, Cornwall is regularly frequented by the well known. Dubbed the Cornish Riviera, Cornwall features quaint villages, pristine beaches and an all-around relaxed vibe that many other UK destinations simply don’t offer. The likes of Rochelle Humes, Jesy Nelson, Gordon Ramsay, Peter Andre, and Stacey Solomon have been seen there in recent times as Cornwall continues to attract visitors from all over the country. Cornwall is the go-to UK holiday destination for many.

Devon

Offering lovely beaches and picture-perfect countryside, Devon is another UK holiday hotspot that is popular with some of the country’s most famous faces. With plenty of activities to dive into and some excellent food to sample, Devon’s appeal is understandable. Throw in its rich history and friendly people, and Devon is unrivalled. Celebrities associated with Devon include Kirstie Allsopp, who owns a house in the county, and Kelly Brook.

Dorset

Home to the likes of Jonathan Ross, Dorset is a county with plenty to offer for the average holidaymaker. The Jurassic Coast is particularly popular, although the county has a rich offering on the whole. From quaint seaside towns like Swanageand Lyme Regis to larger places like Bridport and Weymouth, there is plenty to see and do in this beautiful part of the country.

Other options in the UK include Surrey, Country Durham, Northamptonshire, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness, Snowdonia, and Derry.
