20 Oct THE FLITCH OF BACON LAUNCH EXCLUSIVE GOURMET CLUB
The Flitch of Bacon, which has been in the hands of private investors since 2015, has launched for the first time The Flitch of Bacon Gourmet Club.
The Flitch, originally backed by two Michelin starred chef Daniel Clifford was the first establishment in Essex to gain a Michelin Star and is now under the creative mind of Paul Croasdale. Paul has worked in Michelin star restaurants such as Alyn Williams at the Westbury and Texture Restaurant in Portman Street, London.
The Gourmet Club will host monthly special events membership offers several advantages. Previous special events have included, Seafood, Grouse, Foraging and Summer Solstice to name a few, with lots more in the pipeline.
The Flitch has changed direction since Paul has been situ to concentrate on catering for the distinguished and discerning of Essex and beyond. Guests come from all over the country to experience their Gourmet evenings, weekends and the best that Essex has to offer, using The Flitch’s boutique and individually designed bedrooms as a luxurious base.
Chef Patron Paul Croasdale says, “Our Gourmet Club has been really popular, and our evenings have been a huge success. Feedback and reviews have been brilliant to read. We say The Flitch is for the discerning and distinguished, but I think a recent guest expressed it so succinctly; “If you are looking for a traditional three course meal with meat and two veg, The Flitch may not apply, the good news is that there are tonnes of places that can do that wonderfully. What the Flitch is trying to do is a lot rarer, especially in this part of England.
Taking stunning local and seasonable ingredients, some foraged locally, and combining them in such a way that makes them sign in a setting that lacks pretence and formality and where the staff are truly enthusiastic about what they produce”.
Nestled in the yale of the River Chelmer, The Flitch of Bacon is a warm, welcoming and relaxing restaurant with rooms housed in a stunning sixteenth-century Grade I listed building.
Under the creative direction of Paul Croasdale, The Flitch of Bacon produce a refined British menu made of carefully sourced, seasonal local ingredients, served by their warm, friendly and hospitable award-winning team.
