The first SCI FI Southend at The Royals Shopping Centre has been hailed a success.
Thousands attended this comic con style event! Who said the High Street was dying! With events like this the centre prides itself as a family ‘destination’.
Completely FREE, we saw the passionate Sci Fi fanatics to families bringing their little ones to enjoy the nostalgia of their favourite sci fi characters and films.
The centre was teaming with Cos Players- and James Riches (pictured with the Ecto 1) won best costume -scooping £100 prize money.
We had special guest actor Ricky Champ- who’s been in Game of Thrones as well as currently playing Eastenders’ villain ‘Stuart’. Chris Bunn the original Storm Trooper and Ross Sambridge – body double for Supreme Leader Snoke (being 7ft 1 inches – no surprise there!).
We had Dr Who Appreciation Society, authors, Jedi training workshops, Sci Fi themed arts and crafts- and so much more. Dom Atkins hosted the main stage with ‘Ship Full of Bombs’ DJ’ing throughout the day.
