The BIG Sing choir’s Chelmsford event hailed a success

21 May The BIG Sing choir’s Chelmsford event hailed a success

On May 12th The BIG Sing Gospel Choir held its annual festival at the Civic Theatre in Chelmsford for the sixth year running.

This exciting event saw over 400 BIG singers meet for a day of uplifting workshops from David Grant, BBC presenter for The One Show and Songs of Praise. Meanwhile, every Big SING Choir from across the country performed a Motown anthem on stage before a grand finale, where these 400 incredible voices sung as one, celebrating music and family in all its glory.

The BIG Sing choir was founded by Gemma & Howard Francis and Jonathan Rattenbury, as they dreamt of uniting communities through music. Since the beginning, this choir has seen incredible success in a very short period of time; as winners of BBC’s Songs of Praise, The BIG Sing have performed with the likes of Leona Lewis and have been asked to appear on ITV’s X Factor. Having sung for Jamie Oliver, the choir continue to spread their wings across the UK with a new charity venture and groups for children.

This choir describes themselves as a family above all else, supporting one another through difficult times and loneliness. Following the success of yet another event with attendees loving The BIG Fest, they have no plans to slow down and after winning a Pride of Essex award last year, the possibilities for this group are limitless.
