Team GB Olympians launch Old El Paso’s #FajitaFriyayChallenge

23 Jun Team GB Olympians launch Old El Paso’s #FajitaFriyayChallenge

This summer, multiple Olympic gold medallists Dame Laura Kenny, Max Whitlock OBE, Helen Glover MBE and Tom Dean MBE are joining forces with Old El Paso to launch its brand new #FajitaFriyayChallenge.

Launched in partnership with Team GB, the #FajitaFriYayChallenge aims to address food insecurity in the face of the current cost of living crisis. The social media challenge launches following results of a major new survey from FareShare, the UK’s largest charity tackling hunger and food waste, which revealed that 90% of the charities and community groups that rely on the organisation have had their services affected in some way by the cost of living crisis.

Old El Paso, together with Team GB, has provided an initial donation of 10,000 fajita meal kits to FareShare. Together they are now inviting the nation to help them double the meal kit donations by turning their Fridays to FriYAYs and bringing in some fun.

Whether you get involved by dancing, rapping, or even getting competitive against the Team GB gold Olympic medallists by trying your hand at rowing or cycling, share your best ‘Fajita FriYAY’ moment on social media. For every entry that tags @OldElPasoUK and @TeamGB and uses the hashtag #FajitaFriYayChallenge, Old El Paso will be donating an additional fajita meal kit to FareShare, to help UK families in need fight hunger, with an ambition to achieve 20,000 total meal kit donations.

Team GB’s most decorated female Olympian Dame Laura Kenny says, “I have always loved making Fajitas. They’re quick to make and full of flavour – just what you need after a long cycle. And even better, the whole family gets involved! I’m delighted to be supporting Old El Paso on its latest ‘Fajita FriYAY’ Challenge, helping them bring more meals to those in need through FareShare and encouraging friends and family to get into the ‘FriYAY Spirit’.”

Fajitas are a family favourite: easy to put together, shareable, and delicious. Old El Paso has a variety of flavours and wants to make family meals as fun and memorable as possible. Each meal kit is filled with a handpicked sauce, a spice packet, and tortillas, so you can throw together a feast in minutes.
