27 Feb Tasha Turner’s Oscars 2017 Round Up
For those of you that didn’t brave the all nighter to watch the beloved Oscars here’s is a full lowdown on the night’s action from California where Hollywood’s greatest gathered for another night of drama as it where in this case.
So firstly Jimmy Kimmel pulled off one of the coolest stunts in the history of the Oscars on Sunday night. Treating tourists taking an open-deck bus tour of Hollywood’s sights to an Oscars experience where they bagged selfies with their biggest stars.
As expected political speeches dominated the Oscars with winners lining up to outdo each other as they spoke out against President Donald Trump’s immigration ban.
Even host Kimmel couldn’t help but take a few digs at the leader of the free world telling the crowds ‘I want to say thank you to President Trump… remember last year when it seemed the Oscars were racist?’ Kimmel told the star-studded audience. ‘That’s gone, thanks to him.’
On to the Awards:
Ben Affleck now has competition within the family Casey Affleck took home Best Actor at 89th Academy Awards.
Mahershala Ali became the first ever Muslim to win an acting Oscar for his role in Moonlight
The highlight of the night’s drama came amidst one of the biggest gaffes of the night, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway incorrectly named La La Land best picture and whilst the Producers were giving their acceptance speeches this was cut short to make way for the rightful winner Moonlight.
That’s all from me, next year is the BIG 90 for the Academy Awards, I am sure it will be one to remember.
