16 Mar Talent Spotlight: Meet Actor Darren Kent
Darren Kent is a name that is about to take the industry by storm, from a film role starring alongside Kiefer Sutherland in blockbuster Mirrors to hist stint on Game Of Thrones we find out more about just who is Darren Kent.
Hailing from Essex having completed his studies at South East Essex College, Darren spoke about overcoming a battle with osteoporosis, arthritis and an extremely rare skin disorder in his early career.
As an actor he has managed to secure roles in Game of Thrones, Frankenstein Chronicles, Shameless and has recently played the role of Sam in local indie film My Feral Heart which holds a premise of Luke a young man with Down’s syndrome stumbling upon a wild and life changing friendship.
Industry recognition has followed on for Darren who won the Best Actor Award at the Van D’or Awards for his role in Sunnyboy
Darren tells us “To date I have starred in over 30 movies and several TV show, my feature film Abusing Protocol which premiered at the Southend Film Festival had sell out crowds. It was recorded as the fastest sell out in the 8 years the festival has run for.”
The future is looking equally as bright for Darren who is a supporting lead actor in a brand new American SYFY series called Blood Drive which is due for release later this year. His directing hat is back on for a WW1 movie called Mein Freund which will be released next year in time for the 100th anniversary of the great war. The film is starring Lee Mead and Jack Roth.
