23 Jul Studio 338 announce Summer shows and launch of record label Release LDN
Release LDN is the brand new label from London’s globally renowned Studio 338 and it promises to bring some of the finest industry names across its future catalogue. It kicks off with a brand new EP from Syncia who serves up a super solid selection of club-ready techno.
From its home at London’s Studio 338, Release has quickly become one of the UK’s most fresh and forward-thinking parties. They always host sold out events including a huge annual New Year’s Eve celebration and have had former guests like Marco Carola, Nicole Moudaber and Radio Slave. They have got plenty lined-up this summer including on July 29 the Release Summer Mini-Festival with Lilly Palmer, Cassy, Dense & Pika, NANCY Live, Ray Okpara, Clive Henry, Hypoxia (LDN), Andrew Kay.
Studio 388 continues to roll out immersive and spectacular events across all of its different spaces, garden and terrace with a huge Summer Outdoor and Indoor Garage Festival on July 21, the Bedrock Summer special with John Digweed, Frankey & Sandrino and more, Solitude’s 3rd Anniversary in the form of a 12 Hour Indoor/Outdoor Day and Night Party, the game changing Latin focussed debut of Zamna in London on August 27 with the likes of Armonica, Brina Knauss, Dino Lenny, Ebmath, Henri Bergmann, Øostil, Stephan Jolk and The Element and an ABODE summer Garden Party on September 10th while Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell is bringing his unique Heaven After Dark party to London’s Studio 338 for the first time on September 16th
The launch of the Release label is the logical next step. Syncia is a number 1 techno artist on digital download sites who has played across the UK’s finest venues and always brings a weighty groove to his work. The EP opener is a throbbing track with tribal overtones and a chanting vocal that will lock in the crowd as the tension grows. It is pure dance floor fire, while Bad Boy Sound brings different influences – jungle effects, thudding kicks and wild synths and vocals that play with breakdowns and filters to really cook up a dance floor storm.
I’m About To Go shows another look with a 140 bpm low end, heft sub bass and pitched up vocals that will get huge reactions. The edgy synths and twisted bass make it a full flavour banger. Last of all is The One, a well swung and heft cut with fat drums and fizzing synth energy that fires the synapses.
This is a standout first EP from this label which already sounds like it will be essential going forwards.
