28 Mar Storm Imogen destroys Essex
ESSEX saw strong winds and heavy rain overnight as Storm Imogen battered the county. A yellow warning for wind is still in place for Essex as the tail end of the storm lingers on. Essex Weather Centre says Monday will have bright or sunny intervals and occasional blustery showers.
They also predict South-Westerly winds will reach gale force at times bringing some local disruption to travel. Maximum temperature 10 deg C. Last night, winds of up to 53mph were recorded in Southend and thunder and lightning storms passed over Colchester.
