Southend United Ladies secure new sponsorship deal with Bellway Strategic Land

12 Jan Southend United Ladies secure new sponsorship deal with Bellway Strategic Land

Southend United Ladies Football Club has scored a hat-trick of sponsorship deals with Bellway Strategic Land as it aims to continue its rise up the women’s leagues.
The business, a dedicated land and planning division of the national housebuilder Bellway, has donated £5,000 to the side for the 2023-24 season – after contributing £3,000 in each of the two previous campaigns.
The money will be used to purchase a new kit featuring the Bellway Strategic Land logo, new tracksuits and equipment, including balls, cones, bibs and nets. The donation will also help pay for the changing rooms and pitches the team hires to play home games.
Southend United Ladies, which plays its home games at Garon Park in Southend, was promoted last season to the Eastern Region Division One South. This is the club’s fourth promotion since it was formed in 2016.
Dale Spiby, chairman of Southend United Ladies, said: “It is fantastic that Bellway Strategic Land has seen fit to continue to support us here at Southend United Ladies FC. This very generous donation means the world to us and is a real vote of confidence in what we are trying to achieve here at the club.
“The money will allow us to not only buy new kits for the season ahead but to purchase tracksuits as travelling outfits for the squad so we can arrive at our away games looking thoroughly professional. The club has only been going for seven years but, through a combination of a lot of hard work and footballing ability, we have been able to secure a number of promotions.
“As we rise up the league ladder, we will be encountering better and better teams which have solid financial backing. Our ongoing relationship with Bellway Strategic Land helps us face other sides on a more level playing field.”
Bellway is currently building new homes at developments across Essex, while Bellway Strategic Land is continuing to seek suitable sites for future developments in the county.
Ben Stacey, Bellway Strategic Land Director (South), said: “Our role at Bellway Strategic Land is focused on identifying and delivering the sites which will provide our communities of the future. Alongside this, we are committed to supporting existing communities in the locations where we operate.
“We have established a close relationship with Southend United Ladies football team and are pleased to be extending this into a third season of sponsorship. Women’s football is on a real high in this country with the Lionesses reaching the World Cup Final in August and it is great that Southend United Ladies have won yet another promotion.
“We hope our donation will enable the team to continue their progress up the leagues and inspire a new generation of girls in Essex to take up the sport.”
