06 Aug Southend partnership set to boost animal safety during hot water
The Southend Community Policing Team paired up with partner agencies to inform residents about how to keep their furry friends and the community safe.
Last week, PCSO Jackie Jones was joined by a representative from Make Southend Sparkle, an animal warden from Southend Borough Council, an Essex Watch Liaison Officer, a MediVet nurse and Firefighters from Leigh-on-Sea fire station to give members of the public advice on how to be a responsible dog owner.
Residents who visited the information stall at Blenheim Park were educated about keeping their dog cool and hydrated during hot weather, the importance of microchipping and keeping dogs under control in public places.
The animal warden provided dog owners with free microchipping, making it easier to return their dog to them in the unfortunate event of it going missing.
