12 Jul Southend annual charity football raises £1,000 for Hosopital’s baby unit
Southend Hospital staff have been taking to the pitch in their annual charity football match against Sky Athletic FC.
The game raises money for the hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) and this year is the third time the match has taken place. It’s organised by Marc Oxford, a Renographer on the Renal Unit, who wanted to give something back after his own daughter spent time on the unit.
This year’s charity match, which also featured a number of stalls, DJ and even a half-time singer, raised £1,050.
Over the last three years Marc has raised nearly £3,000 for SCBU and the Renal Unit.
