26 Apr Southend Airport to install giant surf simulator!
Calling all surfers! Wriggle into your wetsuits and get yourself down to London Southend Airport.
They are celebrating the launch of FlyBe flights between London’s favourite airport and Newquay.
So, on Thursday 2 May from 10am – 1pm, a giant surf simulator is going to be installed on the lawn in front of the terminal building, for anyone to try out their skills for free.
There will also be wine sampling from Camel Valley Vineyard (Cornwall’s largest vineyard), and to get everyone even more into the Cornwall spirit, cream teas are going to be handed out in the terminal to passengers and visitors.
Glyn Jones, CEO of Stobart Aviation, owners of London Southend Airport said “We are calling on all surfers – or anyone who has ever fancied trying out the board – to come down to the airport on 2 May and join in the fun. We are hoping this event will inspire people to consider riding the crest of some real waves this summer, and take a trip to Cornwall. Our now daily flight opens up a fast connection between two great seaside resorts and their great beaches, restaurants and attractions. These flights are a quick and convenient alternative to lengthy road or rail journeys.”
